Review:
You can just hear the ladies chanting, "Hersband Material! Hersband Material!"
This book had my heart beating out of my chest. She made these characters very real. On top of it being filled with questioning moments, it was hilarious. The best scene came from Baby Dom taking their tips after their performance and showing off by buying everybody drinks in the club. Baby Dom was a riot and I believe I’d read a book simply about her. She was the comic relief that I feel is always needed in any novel no matter the subject.
It will come as no surprise that Baby Dom was the one I most favored.
Native was laid-back and blunt, loved that.
Mystro was clueless, but I still felt a bit sorry for her. She was dealt a bad hand. Anyone can identify with wanting to love and be loved so badly that you will accept just about anything.
I loved their names. C. Wash did an incredible job for her debut. Her characters were people that I knew in real life. I could imagine any one of them walking up my street or even knocking on my door.
There were some editing issues with tense changes and punctuation, but it took nothing away from the amazing story. It was refreshing to read something that's not written often.
I hope this book has a second part. Overall, I enjoyed it and I'd recommend it.
